If you can't come to Albania, what can you do?

Priority Prayer Requests

We need 2 full-time teachers for ABI starting in September 2007. We need teachers who will live in Durres and invest themselves in the teaching and mentoring of students. We have a couple of prospects, but nothing firm has developed yet.

We are seeking 60 partners who will each donate $500 to sponsor students for the upcoming school year. Pray that we will God will lay it on the heart of individuals, churches, Christian businesses, Sunday School classes, women's groups, men's groups, etc., to be a part of this investment plan for our school.

Pray for new students to come to ABI this fall. We want growing, serious students who are committed and called to the service of the Lord. We want those the Lord will send and not those we might be recruiting because they look good to us.

Pray for wisdom as we look at possibilities of adding a third floor to our existing building later in the spring and summer. We have an important board meeting coming up on March 20th to make some decisions about this. All of us want the Lord's will concerning this project.

Pray for the teaching team as we develop our curriculum and schedule for the upcoming school year. Pray for the successful implementation of our missions-church planting track this fall. There is still a lot to be done for that, especially finding guest teachers for some of the courses we will need. Much planning and thinking goes into the process of bringing our academic programs together. We start meeting in mid-February for these kinds of discussions.

Ongoing Prayer Needs

Pray faithfully for our people to be transformed by Christ. What greater testimony could there be than for the world to know that the world's first atheist state became a great nation for Christ! It could happen. Great movements for Christ are always bathed in prayer. At the end of World War II, Korea had fewer than one percent who were born again. Now, after 60 years, that number is 33 percent! This truly has been a work of God. Why couldn't Albania become like South Korea over the next 60 years?

Pray faithfully for church leaders who are in training at Albanian Bible Institute. Pray that they will come with teachable hearts and readiness to learn. Pray that our school will be effective in helping them become stronger disciples with Christ-like character. Many who come to us for training are fairly new in the faith and unconsciously have some actions and attitudes that need to be submitted to Christ. This transformation demands patient mentoring and teaching on our part.

Pray faithfully for your missionary, Lee Bradley. He leads a school undergoing major change. Pray for wisdom as he leads the school through these changes. This is his first time ever to lead a school.

Pray for new full-time teachers to come to ABI. Guest teachers are welcome, but we need teachers who will be on campus day after day to invest in the mentoring of our students. The faculty is going to be expanding in 2009 and new teachers will be needed for a larger student body and an expanding curriculum. That sounds like a long way from now, but it is not too early to find someone. It takes 2 years to get ready to teach in the Albanian language.
