Meet E.S.
October 2008
Hi!
I am E.S. and I am in my second year as a part-time student at Albanian Bible Institute. I have been a believer in Jesus since March 13, 1995.
Before I had heard about Jesus and accepted Him, I was a Muslim from the Bektashi sect. I suffered much for my past mistakes and my religion did not help me get free of them. When I heard about Christ and how he loved me and accepted me just as I was and how he died for my sins, I decided to give him my life. He forgave me and cleansed me of all that I did. He gave me peace that I had never had before. He changed my life completely and has given me the right direction.
When I accepted Christ, I did not have a church in which to participate, but God helped me to share the gospel with my family and in my village and the villages around us. I went around trying to create small groups to gather them for Bible studies. That was many years ago and God used that work to start Bible study groups down in the Skrapar region where I once lived. For the last few years I live in Durres where I am a member of the Christian Center. There I am a teacher of children and lead small groups for adults.
Now I am a student at Albanian Bible Institute where I am learning as much as I can about missions. I want to have sufficient knowledge to serve the Lord any place and any time. What I have learned so far at ABI has helped me to serve my church more effectively. It has helped me think more seriously about my future in the mission field.
Although I haven't been at ABI as a full-time student, I have had the opportunity to take part in courses on small group Bible studies, preaching, world missions, chronological Bible studies, and the Old Testament survey. This course in the Old Testament has been particularly valuable to me and I have enjoyed it very much. The teachers have also been very good and are very prepared for the lessons they give. This has increased my desire to learn and to grow even more in knowledge. The students are also very good and very serious about their studies.
