Meet GJERGJ LLESHI
October 2008
Hello!
I am Gjergj Lleshi and I am in my second year of studies at Albanian Bible Institute. My wife Zamira and daughter, Emanuela, come from Elbasan to study every other week. We are serving as church planters in this city of over 165,000 people, traveling over 65 kilometers one way to be here. It is a joy to be at ABI and the trip is not hard for us.
I have been a believer in Jesus for eleven years. It was the love of believers that attracted me to Christ. I knew that many things of my traditional Catholic faith were not right. I needed some time to figure out what was the truth and to understand what Christ had really done for me through the shedding of his blood. When I began to understand this, I accepted Jesus as my Savior and Lord.
Over the years that I have been a Christian I have served in the local church, mostly in "The Way of Salvation" Church in Tirana. I have helped in simple and practical ways. I have served as leader of the evangelism group and in the leadership of the church. I have been in Elbasan for four months now trying to get a new church started in that city.
Albanian Bible Institute has helped equip me with the necessary tools for a healthy ministry for Christ. It is helping me with evangelism and church planting skills that will enable me to reach lost people for Christ.
The Bible studies, hermeneutical studies, homiletics and Biblical survey classes have all been great. It is hard to say which has been the most helpful to me. All of them have been helpful. I am seeing the connection of hermeneutics with leading Bible studies and homiletics. God is using all I am learning to help me serve in the ministry.
